Clarkrange eliminates Oliver Springs
Last year at this time the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats were on top of the world after knocking off Clarkrange 42-40 in the opening round of the TSSAA Class A State Tournament. Wednesday afternoon was a different story, however, as the Lady Buffaloes got some revenge and ended Oliver Springs’ season with a 55-46 victory in the opening round of the state tournament in Murfreesboro.

State tournament back on the menu for Lady Cats
Thanks the team's victory at Cloudland Saturday night, the Lady Cats are once again among the final eight teams that will play for Tennessee's state basketball championship this week in Murfreesboro.Directions TSSAA Tournament CentralOliver Springs has drawn a familiar foe in the Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes for its first-round game Wednesday at 2PM central time. Oliver Springs and Clarkrange are in the same half of the bracket as west Tennessee teams Bradford and Middleton. The top half of the bracket includes Wayne County, Forrest, Jackson County and Wartburg. This state quarterfinal game to be played at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro is the third meeting between these two schools this season. Clarkrange defeated the Lady Cats on both occassions. Wednesday's game will also constitute a rematch between two teams that met in last season's state quarterfinal round, a meeting that Oliver Springs won and used as a stepping stone toward its appearance in the championship game versus Gleason High School.

Lady Cats battle for state birth
For the sixth time in seven years, the Lady Cats have advanced to the sectional round of the TSSAA state championship series.Oliver Springs will face the Cloudland Lady Highlanders Saturday evening at Cloudland High School in Roan Mountain, Tenn. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live here on OSHS.com. Audio: Live Audio The winner of the contest will earn a spot in the TSSAA State Championship tournament next week in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Lady Cats have appeared among the final eight teams at the state tournament four times since 2002.
